Trion Worlds has unveiled details on the Season Pass for its online open-world shooter/television show hybrid Defiance. The Season Pass will set players back $39.99 and provide access to the game’s first five DLC packs, which include a new playable alien species, new weapons and vehicles, missions, and rewards, plus two bonus items, an exclusive digital Hellbug combat cap and a Lock Box.

The $39.99 is in addition to the game’s initial purchase price ($59.99, or $99.99 for the deluxe edition). Each of the 5 DLC packs are estimated to cost $9.99 if purchased separately, so the Season Pass will save you about 20%.

The Defiance game will be launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 2nd, while the televison show will start on April 15th on the the SyFy channel.
