Tales from the Borderlands: First Screenshots Revealed

Tales from the Borderlands: First Screenshots Revealed

Today, Telltales Games shared the first batch of screenshots for its next downloadable episodic title, Tales from the Borderlands, set in the world of Gearbox Software’s Borderlands universe.

The game takes place after the events of 2012 role-playing shooter Borderlands 2 and stars two new characters: the con-artist Fiona, born on Pandora and out to make the “grift of a lifetime,” and low level data-miner Rhys, who works for weapons manufacturer Hyperion and is out on a mission to serve his own greedy needs. Of course, some familiar faces from the Borderlands series show up, including mysterious assassin Zer0.

The story will be told from both Fiona and Rhys’ perspectives, which will change as the story unfolds. The game will have loot, and the the loot you collect in this game will be available to use in other areas of the Borderlands franchise

Along with the screenshots, Telltale producer Adam Sarasohn discussed the upcoming game on the PlayStation Blog, specifically detailing why the company is making a Borderlands game that’s not an FPS. “… Borderlands features some amazing characters and stories in a world that’s rich in dark humor,” Sarasohn wrote. “Handsome Jack, Claptrap, Tiny Tina, Angel, Moxxi, Zer0 … it’s a big list. We are all about compelling characters and stories, and we see an amazing opportunity to build on what Gearbox has created.”

Though no specific platform was announced, Tales from the Borderlands is set to launch this summer and each episode will be priced at $4.99.
