SDCC 13: Strider Returns To Consoles Early 2014

Capcom announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that a new Strider game featuring “Metroidvania”-style gameplay is coming to current-gen and next-gen consoles in 2014.

Developed by Double Helix Games, this new Strider will be a 2.5D side-scrolling adventure featuring nonlinear levels spanning a massive and expansive Kazakh City and new upgrades for Hiryu and his signature sword, the Cypher.

Capcom reports that Strider will feature “an ultra-responsive control system, with incredibly satisfying combat options in every traversal context—standing, running, wall climbing, hanging, aerial and more.”

Strider is planned to be a digital release and is coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC through Steam.
