Capcom has confirmed that Remember Me will launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on June 4th and across Europe on June 7, 2013.
Formerly titled “Adrift”, Remember Me is a third person action/adventure game by Dontnod Entertainment. It is presented in a futuristic Paris where memories are considered commodities. You take control of a memory hunter named Nilin whose job is to “remix” a target’s memory in order to obtain information. In certain cases, she can even make it so that you remember events in your own life completely different than what actually happened. Memoryeyes, Nilin’s former employer, took it upon themselves to erase her memory. It is now up to her to figure out why and how to get them back.
This idea of “memory remixing” is the core of what makes Remember Me unique. As the first look of gameplay reveal, you navigate around a city under heavy surveillance in order to reach your target. Once within range, you “hack” into their brain and pull up a memory. It is now up to you to manipulate objects while the memory plays out in order to create a different outcome. This in turn will make the target remember something that never actually happened and cause them to react to their current situation differently.
