BioWare has announced two new Mass Effect 3 DLC packs, the Reckoning multiplayer add-on and the Citadel single player expansion.
The Reckoning is a free bundle of multiplayer DLC that’ll be available for free when it lands this Tuesday, February 26th. The pack adds new characters, weapons and item upgrades for use in multiplayer, though what any of those things are specifically remains to be seen.
Arriving on March 5th, Citadel is “one final send-off for Commander Shepard”, and takes players “on an emotional ride with their favorite characters”. BioWare community manager Chris Priestly posted a ‘Citadel’ synopsis on the BioWare forums that reads:
“When a sinister conspiracy targets Commander Shepard, you and your team must uncover the truth, through battles and intrigue that range from the glamour of the Citadel’s Wards to the top-secret Council Archives. Uncover the truth and fight alongside your squad – as well as the cast from the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2.”
“When the adventure is over, reconnect with your favourite characters from the Mass Effect Trilogy, try your luck at the Citadel’s Silver Coast Casino, blow off steam in the Armax Combat Arena, or explore and furnish Shepard’s own living quarters on the Citadel.”
“With unique content and cinematic featuring your friends and romance interests in the Mass Effect trilogy, Mass Effect 3: Citadel offers one final chance to see the characters you have known for years and rekindle romances.”
Reckoning offers players new firepower and character kits for the war against the Reapers. It will set you back $14.99/1200 MS Points.
It’s a rather large expansion that surpasses Microsoft’s 2GB limit on digital content, so you will need to download it in two parts. No mention on if these DLC packs will make there way onto the Wii U.
