CCP’s free-to-play first-person shooter Dust 514, will launch for PlayStation 3 on May 14th – coincidence? I think not.
Currently in the Beta stage, Dust 514 allows players to participate in battles that have an impact on the Eve universe. It was announced way back in 2009, and even though it is launching late into the console’s cycle, this is just the beginning of CCP’s “ten year” vision for the game.
“Reaching this point has required many years, hundreds of CCP employees, and the engagement of millions of players who contributed fantastic feedback during the beta process,” said Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP. “Now we start the real journey, which, decades from now, we will look back on with astonishment at all we accomplished. The EVE Universe will outlive us all.”
The launch of Dust 514 will follow the release of the game’s next major update, titled Uprising, which adds ‘Planetary Conquest’ mode, new upgrades, balances and skills.[post-views]
